Blaauw and Partners Biokinetic KineDek Exercise Report
Report by Blaauw and Partners, one of South Africa’s largest biokinetics (kinesiology) practices. The principal partner, Professor Bokkie Blaauw, is a pioneering figure in the field of biokinetics in the country.

Most patients reported no pain after the sessions, feeling stronger and pain reduction after 6 sessions. The interesting observation was, that the patients that had autoimmune disease, that would not normally respond well to land-based exercise, responded with no pain after the session and no flareups. The KineDek was also used at Blaauw and Partners for sport conditioning in Masters hockey players with good results. Players commented on less back pain and better functional movement in their game.
I include an interview I had with two patients that have only used the KineDek and no other exercise intervention:
- What is your condition: Osteo-arthritis of the hips and lower back.
- What was your restrictions: Drank pain pills 3 times per day and could not drive anymore
- When did you start using the KineDek and how many times per week: I started in January and exercised twice a week for 20min a session.
- How did the KineDek help you: I have cut down my pain medication to once per day and can drive again. I have much less pain and am mobile again.
What was interesting about Frederieka’s case, is that she said “The sessions did not feel like exercise, it was more like medicine”
- What is your condition: Lupus and Osteoarthritis of knees and hips.
- What was your restrictions: Daily stiffness and muscle ache. “I felt like I had flu everyday.” I was on anti-inflammatories and cortisone for 5 years.
- When did you start using the KineDek and how many times per week: I started in January and exercised twice a week for 20min a session.
- How did the KineDek help you: I had no pain after the sessions. I gradually got better with less general pain. I have more energy and gradually cut down my medication.
Update: Johanna has been off any Lupus medication for more than 2 years and only does 1 session weekly.
These two testimonies and the results that have been seen in the practice with various patients mentioned above, would definitely warrant a clinical trial using only the KineDek as an exercise intervention.
